His Eexcellency,Bishop Mark R. Earl, was ordained by the Most Reverend Thomas Abel, the Presiding Bishop at that time. Bishop Earl assumed the duties of Presiding Bishop upon the simi-retirment of  Bishop Abel, September 11, 2016.

Bishop Earl is originally from Washington State and a lifetime member of the Episcopal Church and was ordained as a Priest for the Diocese of Washington. Bishop Earl later moved to San Diego being incardinated in the Episcopal Diocese of San Diego. Bishop Earl was incardinated in the Catholic Church of America on April 28, 2007.

Bishop Earl has held a number of position with the local Church, serving a Procical Vicar at Saint John the Beloved, later assuming the duties of Rector. He has been active in hospice Care since 2012 in the greater San Diego are, and now serves, with Bishop Thomas E. Abel, as Co-Pastors of Santo Nino Catholic Church in North LasVegas, Nevada.
